Mitt Romney's definition of 'not participating in straw polls'
It's starting to look like Mitt Romney may be able to have it both ways on the Florida GOP's Presidency 5 presidential straw poll in September. On the one hand, he has declared he won't be campaigning in the Florida's straw poll in Orlando, or the staw polls planned by Iowa GOP in Aug and Michigan GOP in September. On the other hand, Romney will spend a lot of time with the P5 straw poll voters just before it takes place.
“Our campaign has made the decision to not participate in any straw polls, whether it’s in Florida, Iowa, Michigan or someplace else,'' the Romney campaign decared four weeks ago.
Still, Romney will participate in a Fox News debate on Sept. 22 attended by all the Florida delegates. The next day, he will speak at the CPAC conference at the Orange County Convention Center attended by the P5 delegates. The following day, the straw poll takes place and Romney's name will be on the ballot regardless of whether he official "participated."
