President Obama thinks he has a bunch of lemmings in the Democratic Party.
President Obama is in for a rude awakening if he thinks the Democratic Party, and its progressive activist base, is just going to rubberstamp every move he does. This is notthe Republican Party, Mr. President. You play with fire and you get burned. He really thinks that he can just triangulate away a key part of a senior's life (their Medicare eligibility age) and face no backlash from his party? He has a lot of nerve to think that the Democratic Party will just accept his "good judgment" and "swallow their peas" as he raises the Medicare eligibility age as a "compromise". The talk that he is the "only adult in the room" has seemed to have gone to his head.

7. Obama is
the stupidest man alive. Boehner just has to sit back and watch him hand over the election to Republicans.

Who knew the guy who ran a masterful campaign, accomplished more than most of his predecessors is actually a sucker, at least that what some so-called progressives (who have to lie in their e-mails) would have the entire electorate believe.

There is a certain pathetic desperation to these creative criticisms (lies).

5. I'm convinced he's only hearing the lies from "inside the bubble"
It was pretty much established as fact that the Chimp never read a single newspaper, watched TV or saw any other news source during his entire fraudulent occupation of the White House, and relied completely on his PNAC criminal cabinet for information.

Obviously, Obama has a brain, unlike Chimpy. But does he exist inside a similar bubble? Does he even KNOW what the people think, or just what Daley/Geithner/Rahm/Gibbs/Axelrod and the rest of those Chicago goons tell him?

Since he's not dumb, the only other options is that he's either a liar, or horribly misinformed.

Neither is good news. :(

13. Or maybe he actually knows MORE than you do and based upon what he knows, believes that he is taking
the best course of action.

It's very interesting to me to see some Democrats here insist that, because the President isn't doing what THEY think he should do, he must either be stupid or corrupt or a liar, as if it's absolutely impossible for there to be an honest difference of opinion about how to proceed - and that those doing the harshest criticizing possess more knowledge, information, insight and commitment than the President has.

14. If he believes that cutting Social Security and Medicare "are the best course of action"
then that would make him a right wing Republican, since that is NOT now, and NEVER will be, a Democratic position.

So, if a man runs for President as a Democrat, and then after he's inagurated, advocates policies which are NOT Democratic, how would you describe him?

It's not an "honest difference of opinion", it's fucking WRONG.

The right thing to do would be reversing the shitty right wing policies of the last three decades, starting with rolling back both the Reagan AND Chimp tax cuts, and then ending the wars.

NOT declaring war on the poor and the elderly.

29. No, I don't defend everything he does
And I disagree strongly with some things the Administration does and doesn't do.

But I don't assume that President Obama's decisions and actions that I don't agree with are based upon stupidity, corruption or evil motives.

Having a great deal of experience in and with government, I understand how deeply complex these issues are and that the people dealing with them more often than not have considerably more knowledge and information than I do - and how much easier it is to sit on one's butt typing into a computer, ranting about what they should or shouldn't do than it is to actually be in the arena weighing options and making decisions. I also know that that in many instances, those who are doing the loudest screaming have rarely, if ever, lifted a finger or put their butts on the line to go into public life and help make these difficult decisions - they much prefer to talk smack from the peanut gallery.

So, except in rare instances, I refrain from screaming and yelling and demanding and spitting and denigrating those who do step into the ring and do the hard work. And I don't assume that if they make a decision that I don't agree with, that this means they are stupid or evil or corrupt. I think such histrionics are misplaced and counter-productive - and often make those engaging in them look naive and silly.

15. I don't think he believes for one second there is enough support from either party for this deal.
That isn't the point. The point is to upset the Republican narrative in such a way that they have to just raise the damn thing with no strings or at least go back to the stuff Biden was working out. Cuts to entitlements doesn't appear to have enough support in the Senate and tax increases won't pass the House.
