Nugent: Democratic Party Is "Modern-Day Slave Master" To Low-Income Americans
July 19, 2011 6:48 am ET by Media Matters staff

In a June 18 Washington Times column, Ted Nugent suggested that the Democratic Party is the "modern-day slave master" to low-income Americans, writing that Democrats "convinc them that evil, greedy Republicans are the reason they are poor, unemployed and underemployed" and that "many are obviously too clueless to see which political party is their modern-day slave master and which one wants to liberate them."

When historians look back at this time in our history, I recommend they call this era "The Great American Taxpayer Fleecing."

This, of course, will not apply to those 50 percent of Americans who pay no income taxes. They get fleeced and conned in other ways, such as the Democratic Party convincing them that evil, greedy Republicans are the reason they are poor, unemployed and underemployed. Sadly, many are obviously too clueless to see which political party is their modern-day slave master and which one wants to liberate them.

This is the time old tactic used by the Republicans to convince poor, White Americans that they have nothing in common with poor African Americans.

It's also intended to reinforce the message that African Americans get more in govt. services than do poor White Americans.

In reality, both poor White and poor African Americans are better served when government spends aggresively on health care, education, and housing for them.

People need to SEE THIS,
a recommendation does not necessarily denote approval, it denotes something people should SEE,
something that should be disseminated widely.
