Pelosi on raising Medicare eligibility age: "That's not part of what we're talking about"

Leaders Return to Capitol With No Deal

By Jessica Brady and Steven T. Dennis

<...>

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said leaders are still trying to find a path forward.

Asked if she could support a short-term deal, the California Democrat said, "Absolutely, positively not."

Pelosi also declined to say whether she would have supported the grand bargain offer President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) were negotiating, which included an increase in the Medicare eligibility age to 67.

"That's not part of what we're talking about," she told reporters upon returning to the Capitol from the White House.

2. They need to be 100% as that is a major issue to run on in 2012
and it would piss me off! It should have been lowered to 55. Maybe that can still happen..

3. And Nancy, forget the chained CPI crap as well
I know you pols are tempted by it, as it cuts benefits indirectly, but to those trying to live on the already stagnant benefits of Social Security it WILL be seen as a cut.

5. she has sounded stronger than that
she has ruled that out in the past. Now she's saying "we're not talking about that". What does that mean? Who's "we"?

6. "That's not part of what we're talking about," she told reporters
IOW she won't discuss that publicly?

Meanwhile, wasn't it just last week we read that Pelosi had found herself left out of some of the conversations?
