It’s “Sh#!”

A House Republican who is in leadership called me tonight. He said what we are hearing about — the two tier plan — is “sh*t” and he’s blaming Boehner. He agrees that Boehner is getting nervous and wants a deal.

But this two tier plan seems to be the Republicans’ initial offer. Harry Reid is headed that way. Many Democrats want more.

So keep in mind for purposes of negotiations, House Republican leadership members are already referring to the starting point as “sh*t” and it will only get worse from here.

One of the ways they’ll claim they are cutting $1 trillion is by pretending the Iraq and Afghan wars no longer exist. They’ll also do another deficit commission.

There have been 17 such deficit commissions in the past 13 years. The net result? Taxes have gone up with just about each one and spending has never actually been reduced. We’ve gone from $5 trillion in national debt to $14 trillion.

Also, the GOP leadership seems to want another debt ceiling vote before the election. This would be political suicide for the GOP. They’d vote to increase the debt ceiling and Barack Obama would get a definite PR win by looking bipartisan right before an election.

I think the congressman is right. This is sh*t.

3. How will they do that? Just curious. My local paper
had a huge headline Boehner Walks Out! that is what a million people here will see where I live. I wonder how this is playing around the country. I wonder what the headlines look like.

7. its interesting this "person" sees an additional vote prior the elections as helping the President.
The Republican leadership is pushing for these additional votes in some of the deals being offered thinking it will help them politically to have this issue publicly debated again. I actually think the dude posting at Redstate may be correct on this issue... yes, it could help the President.

that Republicans forcing another debt ceiling vote in the middle of next year's Presidential election will help the Pubs, however I'm not so sure. The polling during this fight hasn't been favorable towards them at all. Voters (and the markets) probably won't want to have to go through all this drama again and it will probably punish the Pubs further but hey, nobody we said that we have to help them if they want to destroy themselves.......

9. The Republicans have their extremists too
Who will see any cuts to social programs as not enough and a betrayal. Now they talk up the power of Congress because they have it. Suddenly they are legislative fans and the President does not matter. Yet we should have done anything for the president when chimpy mcsmirkson was in the office.
