the Tea Party Congress.

These people are too rabid and too stupid to realize what they are doing to bring down their own country.

6. An excellent article by Benen. Tea Partyers are definitely people who have

become adults in terms of their age, but whose mentalities have been arrested
developmentally in the stage of childhood.

The quality of politicians elected to high office in our country is plunging
ever lower and lower. But has it ever been this low?

Is it possible that we have so many officials in high positions who don't know
what they are doing, and don't know what is happening?

17. It's a terrifying thought.
And it's even more terrifying when you think of the number of "liberals" who wanted to join forces with the Tea Party when it first came out.

I'm sure it's a coincidence that many of the same "liberals" who wanted to join with the Tea Party (ignoring their stupidity, their racism and their rabid insanity) are also some of the president's most consistent critics on every issue.

4. What Conason writes is plainly evident even to the uncurious
But like the teabaggers denial of consequences is probably prevalent. I find myself thinking that it's just not possible that the Republicans would allow a default to happen. I mean, it's actually against their billionaire patrons' interests.

5. Yeah, wonder if this is all show for the Tea Partiers
Who may be too dumb to realize they will be "sold out" - from their point of view.

7. Yes, I could have drawn my conclusion as to how stupid they really were
since back in 2008 and earlier, when they were actually wearing
side-arms to town-house political meetings. Remember? But I
wasn't thinking in these terms then. I was thinking more in
terms of how aggressive they were in trying to intimidate people
in such a way.

8. While I firmly believe that most of the tea baggers are batsh.t crazy,
I also believe that they are consciously attempting to destroy the Country. I have no idea why they would want to do that.

dictatorship, at least an oligarchy, in this country -- whether
they realize what they are doing, or not.

I think the Tea Partyers will be kicked out of the Republican
Party as soon as their usefulness to them is over. Right now,
their votes are needed, among other things.

11. Teabaggers think they're going to be rich someday
and they want the system tilted in their favor for when that happens. There is no other way to explain their love for protecting the extreme rich.

12. You're right. I also think they expect to be rich some day, but if they
help the super-rich to destroy the country, both of them will eventually also have less.
These dumb asses are killing the goose that lays the golden eggs for them!

13. There is a lot of commentary in the past few days very critical of the teaparty.. even from GOPers.
One good side benefit of this whole mess could be the marginalization of the teabaggers.

15. Not going to happen ...
What people are referring to as the "teabaggers" are the most pure result of the BS that the republican party/talk radio have spun for over two decades now.

Millions upon millions of people from the highest elected officials in our country to the average joe/jane, have parroted this BS enough that it has become complete indoctrination.

Reality - even the bleak reality of a national default is not going to undo all of that.

These freaks are only going to get worse - truth, honesty, reality, honor have all been sucked out of all of these people.

They are going nowhere, and as with the last two decades, they are only going to get meaner, tougher and more viscious.

16. Yes, meaner, tougher and more vicious -- even towards the other Republicans,
when they don't get their way. And these other Republicans won't like it.
They are too crazy, even for the Rekpublicans. I wouldn't be surprised
at an eventual split.
