5. I just joined the Union after 3 years of working
(school district in Florida). The Unions in this right to work state have no clout whatsoever, but wanted to STICK IT to Rick Scott. I just want to get out of Florida.

6. The fourth choice polling as well as it is...
...is why you'll never see a real social democracy in the US.

Not enough people here, on an ostensibly left-wing site, actually believe in solidarity in principle to ever have it translated into effective political action.

9. Syndicalism....
...the left alternative to state socialism and pedal-to-the-metal capitalism that everyone forgets -- has always had 'unions' for small businessmen, sole proprietors, the self-employed, artists, as a matter of course.

Not all 'unions' are trade unions.

works from home, and am a member of the National Writers Union. Mr. Brickbat is also a union member. I picked option 1, even though I don't have a "workplace."

10. I live in Texas, where there is no collective bargaining
My patner belongs to The American Federation of Teachers.
If a nursing union were allowed,I would become an advoate in a heartbeat.
That mindset could get me fired.
Screw them.
