What am I watching, Enquiring minds might ask?
V for Vendetta.
Mostly because I just saw the Count of Monte Cristo on another TV station. But there was no tree. I thought there was supposed to be a tree.
But I cannot help but see some parallel as the Sutler government announces that "the terrorist V has been killed".
"If the crimes of this government remain unknown to you ..."
V, however, unlike Al-Quaida was a one man band. And also fictional. But he would have had to have help to get as much done as he did.
Would his actual death have made Sutler very popular?
Not that Obama is a Sutler, but generally on DU, we complain about the crimes of THIS administration - Bradley Manning, Guantanmo, rendition, wars and bombs and deaths in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya, and for ignoring the unemployed, the homeless, the poor and the desperate.
But now, at least for one night, all of that is forgetten. Maybe even for a day or two.
