I would have preferred if he had been caught and put
on trial - the Rev Jim Parks (in Jamaica) whose son Michael was killed on the 93rd floor in September 11th 2001.

Parks gave up his insurance career and joined the Anglican clergy after his 27 year old son was killed.

edit to add quote from the above:
A firefight ensued when bin Laden resisted and he, the couriers and several others were killed, possibly including bin Laden's son.

5. Very hard - it messed him up
His son was the best man at the wedding of one of our friend's daughters in 2000 - he was the groom's best friend from school days.

7. A very disciplined organizer in Egypt just tweeted
this:

@3arabawy Hossam عمو حسام
George Bush killed more people than Bin Laden. Will he get shot in the head in his mansion too? #OBL
2 May 11 via Echofon

In all these weeks, months now, I've never read anything like this in his tweets. The hypocrisy in letting Bush walk is not lost on any one.

8. Given our failure to try anyone associated with 911 to date...
I'm thinking OBL's death is a bit of a blessing. I don't say that lightly as I am staunchly opposed to the death penalty and further, I believe in using our criminal justice system to try these vile creatures, consistent with our constitution.

But, no, I think we were handed a bit of a gift here.

13. I'm just as glad he's dead. A trial would've gone
on for months maybe years agonizing for everyone. There was no way he was going to be taken alive, he was not about to let himself be held for trial.

14. Nope
He's dead.

No circus trial, no security concerns, no appeals, no protests by his followers in crazyland.

He's gone. Good.
