The central and eastern areas of the United States are especially prone to severe storms and thunderstorms that arise when strong updrafts combine with horizontal winds that become stronger at higher altitudes. This combination produces damaging horizontal and vertical winds and is a major source of weather-related casualties. In the warmer climate simulation there is a small class of the most extreme storms with both strong updrafts and strong horizontal winds at higher levels that occur more often, and thus the model suggests that the most violent severe storms and tornadoes may become more common with warming.

The prediction of stronger continental storms and more lightning in a warmer climate is a natural consequence of the tendency of land surfaces to warm more than oceans and for the freezing level to rise with warming to an altitude where lightning-producing updrafts are stronger. These features of global warming are common to all models, but this is the first climate model to explore the ramifications of the warming for thunderstorms.

Individual weather events are neither proof of global warming nor proof of denial

To think otherwise seems to me to be a foolish road.

With their silly predictions. Unlike conventional charlatans, they claim ANY result as proof. More tornadoes or less, both are claimed as "evidence." More or less hurricanes, more or less snow, warmer or colder seasons, even slightly warmer or COOLER global (yes, even a cooling globe is apparently proof that the globe is warming) temperature averages are trumpeted as proof of their claims -- and this is regarless of their earlier predictions.

The reason man caused global climate change is met with such scepticism by so many otherwise intelligent people is because it has long since crossed the line into religious belief. Claims made without evidence, as these so often are, can be dismissed without evidence.

The reality is this: There is NO factual correlation between these or ANY storm activity and "global climate change." To suggest otherwise is laughable. Obviously some scientists do not talk in such concrete terms, some because absolutes like that are not the language of science, and others because they get paid to prove global warming (just as other scientists get paid to prove the opposite). But I am not a scientist so I can just say it like it is:

We call what happened WEATHER.

A lot of random factors came together in such a way that extreme tornados fired off across the midwest, and sadly some of those tornadoes happened to impact some very populated regions. Lots of bad luck was involved, but that happens sometimes. It wasn't Jesus or Allah, it wasn't Jeff in California using spray-on deodorant, it wasn't too many cars in China, it was normal bad luck. My house, which got hit by some of this weather, was not smote (smited?) by an angry AlGore due to my less than ardent faith in junk science for hire, it was hit by a supercell thunderstorm, and that's plenty bad enough.
