I'm sure they flew him out into the middle of the ocean and just pushed him out. Nothing more to the story, no matter how much you look.

27. Did you read Krakauer's book?
They flew Tillman to Iraq so he could help rescue Jessica Lynch. Of course their plans fell apart.

I also believe it WAS friendly fire that killed him. Saw the movie too. It and the book are both great!
