6. About fifty threads on the subject, I'm afraid.
It's sad when half our board are echoing the POV of the dicks over at Freeperville.

9. They need to show what remains of his body.
Fact is that very few people trust the media or the government. It isn't just Republicans. They have to have proof that he is dead beyond some supposed DNA sample. A DNA sample would be too easy to fake.

The skepticism that abounds in the world today is not the fault of Fox News or of DU for that matter. It is caused by the dishonesty of so many in power in the media, the government and business. Winning and getting ahead have become too important to our "leadership" in many areas that we can no longer trust them.

If better proof than DNA is not produced, we will see the growth of a very dangerous mythology on our hand. Proving that he is dead beyond a shadow of a doubt is perhaps more important than killing him.

After all, some people do not believe in the Holocaust. People are not crazy. They just want real proof.

A DNA sample is only as good as the chain of custody on the samples that are compared. Ask any judge in any paternity matter.

13. Wouldn't you think
If Osama was still alive he would be jumping up and down and making sure the world knows he is still alive? Do you really think he would give up the chance to greatly embarrass the President of the United States?

14. Yes. I would think so. But there are a lot of people in the world
who will not agree with me.

I am, more than anything, concerned about preserving a historical record of this event. Whether the pictures are released now is not so important to me. I think that is a judgment that can be made by our government based on an assessment of the world's reaction.

But, when I think that there are still people who doubt that the Holocaust happened. When I think about the controversy over the genocide of Armenians, I realize that historical records must be carefully created and preserved.

Plus, the US military propaganda arm has created myths in the past, not the least in the case of Pat Tillman.

I do not want to see Osama Bin Laden become some Elvis-sighting type of hero in parts of the world.

15. Well he also could have died a long time ago. In which case
he can not jump up and down making sure the world knows he is still alive. I do not believe it is too much to ask for video/photos, etc.

12. Good news / Bad news
Edited on Mon May-02-11 10:37 AM by KansDem
The good news is the DNA confirms the death of Osama bin Laden...

The bad news is the DNA matches a sample taken from a seman stain off George W's blue suit...
