CIA chief: Waterboarding aided bin Laden raid
What an @ssh0le! Why not just say Bush-Cheney got Osama

WASHINGTON — Intelligence garnered from waterboarded detainees was used to track down al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden and kill him, CIA Chief Leon Panetta told NBC News on Tuesday.

"Enhanced interrogation techniques" were used to extract information that led to the mission's success, Panetta said during an interview with anchor Brian Williams. Those techniques included waterboarding, he acknowledged.

Panetta, who in a 2009 CIA confirmation hearing declared "waterboarding is torture and it's wrong," said Tuesday that debate about its use will continue.

"Whether we would have gotten the same information through other approaches I think is always gonna be an open question," Panetta said.

1. And there's the money shot.
It is now unpatriotic to question the use of torture.

Remember how it got Bin Laden?

2. Funny how they have to massage what Panetta said. If you read the interview Panetta does not say

that. The article cited doesn't even give Panetta's full quotes. Despite the DU'ers who claim otherwise. Panetta dances around.

They had a pile of information- some of which came from torture. That is not to say any of the information that came from torture was valuable, true or even pertinent.

6. Check the video at about 9:00
when Williams asked if Panetta is denying the use of waterboarding...he clearly says "no"....

These techniques were used on only three (?) and that was years ago...nonetheless, Panetta couldn't deny that their use was helpful in obtaining valuable information even if we know that most of the info was BS. This info was one of thousands of leads and was investigated for years. It's not like somebody gave it up and OBL was immediately found.

The timeline is important.
