He played Ohio.

2. I haven't seen him
in years, but will never forget the times I did. And I have a collection of versions of "Ohio," which is such a powerful, haunting song. A (fairly) recently released live version on acoustic is my favorite.

3. I've seen him many times in the past with Crazy Horse.
This was the first time I have seen him solo.

8. I've likely told
you repeatedly that my normal brother was at a house party where Neil played. He was backed by an outfit that were called "the Shocking Pinks," if I remember correctly. My brother told me that Neil was even more intense in person, than he appeared from the distance that most of us experience him from.

I bought a large collection of previously unreleased stuff about a year ago. The CD "Live at Massey Hall/ 1971" is the best.

10. Massey Hall is great.
I have all the CD reissues. Shocking Pinks were his '50s revivalist group from the early '80s when that was big.

You are learning a lot about my CD collection. :) I spend too much money on music.

14. what kind of other brothers do you have?
I loved a young man once, he had a good brother and a bad brother. Then he died. I called the house to offer my condolences and find a life line and when the person who answered told me his name i said, "oh The Good Brother!" I married him 5 years later.

16. My oldest brother
boxed as a teen and young man. Whereas I defined the "hit-and-don't-get hit" strategy, he never minded taking numerous hard shots to land one. Today, he is in a wheelchair, frequently unable to recognize family members. (Our normal brother trained fighters, but never got into the ring to compete.)

I have been a huge fan since the 70's and have seen him many times. I was very emotional during some of the older pieces ie after the gold rush stuff.I got such a nostalgia rush it left me breathless. I guess I am getting old. grin.

32. How much were tickets? Ones I saw ranged from $153-$1200+ per ticket!
at DPAC. OUTRAGEOUS! Neil should have done a free concert in the park the next day for his poorer fans - like me.

Saw him years ago at Dean Smith Center w/Crazy Horse but never solo.

30. Thanks for posting the video.
Its weird, I watched it and at the end it said the shooting was 5/4 at 12:22, and that was the exact time it was here.

I remember the day all those years ago. I was 14. It shaped who I have become.

I love Neil Young. I too have seen him many times. Most recently at his Living with War concert. He is a treasure.

20. Joseph Lewis is an acquaintance of mine.
He was one of the nine wounded, and the first one shot. He dared to flip off the Guardsmen. They opened fire.

Good reminder.
