Big fight Wed. over judicial nominee, John J McConnell
This is significant because the McConnell nomination is for a District Court position, where in the past (when a non-democratic, non-African American president makes the appointment) a District Court nominee always gets an up/down vote after he or she is recommended by the home states 2 senators...The fights are over the higher level Court of Appeals nominations....

They are voting for cloture Wednesday on District Court nominee John J McConnell..
