Think about what life would be like if conservatives had had their way...
We would still be British subjects.

Women would not be able to vote.

African Americans would still be slaves.

Children would be working in factories 18 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Can you add to this list?

3. How America will look. Rich locked in gated communities as
the middle class disappears and masses of poor grow.

Cities and towns become more and more run down and
tattered.

Gradually becoming a 3rd World Country.

4. We would all worship at the state-approved church, or else.
Even if we did so worship, we still might be charged with heresy.

For that matter, had the conservatives had their way in the 16th Century, we would all be subject to the Catholic Inquisition.

Warrantless wiretaps, being irradiated or groped when you just want to board a plane, torture is ok.

And so on.

11. looks like a bad list though
1. We would still be British subjects - and this is a bad thing? Canada, England, Scotland, Australia are some of the more awesome places to live in my opinion, except for the Canadian weather.

2. Women would not be able to vote - except that they can vote in England and Canada and Australia.

3. African Americans would still be slaves - again, slavery ended in England long before it ended in America.

Seems to me that your premise sorta falls apart. Anyway, it does not transfer into an argument against current conservatives to bash some imaginary conservatives from 300 years ago.

Also, if conservatives had had there way, why would there be factories? Shouldn't we all still be on a farm?
