I used to think that DU should ignore threads that were meant to distract, I admit I was wrong

Sometimes it was so obvious that the timing and nature of the Posts were made to distract us and keep us busy with drivel (breast-feeding illegals at the Olive Garden) and I would want to scream to everyone to not fall for it, stay on focus, work on what we were here for.

Now I realize that so many at Democratic Underground are able to not only respond to the crazy distracting posts in a highly intelligent way, but deliver smack-downs so smooth the smackee doesn't even know a hand print is on his cheek. At the same time they are all over the real threads bringing the links that have true and legit info and informing us in ways that always amaze me. Now, Who does that remind me of?

Could it be Obama?

Like right now, there are hundreds of threads about OBL and arguments over every detail of what happened, how we reacted to it, etc. I need a distraction. I am starved for other news, even if it is a distraction. At times, there just isn't anything more to hear about a certain topic until there is more information. I guess this is why some of us don't ignore those threads.

BTW, sadly, your signature line is outdated. Sigh.

Every once in a while I need to see a kitty with a hamster to charge my batteries. Then I post something mean about Rupert Murdoch.
