China demands Nobel Prize apology from Norway

(AFP) – 16 hours ago

OSLO — China is demanding an apology from Norway before agreeing to restore relations soured when dissident Liu Xiaobo received the Nobel Peace prize, Beijing's ambassador was quoted Wednesday as saying.

Chinese ambassador in Oslo Tang Guoqiang made the remarks during a gathering last weekend at the Confucius Institute, a body promoting Chinese language and culture, in Bergen, participants told AFP.

"He demanded an apology from the Norwegian government," said Dan Femoen, a local official in the western city who was at the gathering.

I say that unless China grows up and stops acting like a spoiled Brat, give the next Nobel peace prize to Ai Wei(he deserves it anyways).

Most of this sharade about apology and son one, is becouse China belive that The Nobel Comite and the Government are the same.. Even after the norwigian government have told the Ambassador from China, that the government of Norway, have no say about how get the prize, the chinese are just not able to understand it...

So, I guess we have to "pay the prize, for "sticking up" for human rights then.. Oh wel, we can allways buy our goods from elsewere... And sell our goods elsewhere than in China.. For the most part they sel craps anyway

China is used to the government controlling everything.
So it isn't a wonder as to why they would get confused here.

Even when they are TOLD what the fact is, the chinese government, or at least their ambassdor in Norway are not able to UNDERSTAND that the Nobel comite is independed of the norwigian government.. To be honest, I also had some trouble understand the difference when I was younger - as many of the same pepole who have been on the board, also are the same who have had a life in the national politic... But as a grown up I know the difference... Funny a ambassdor don't know, or dosen't want to know the difference..

5. I agree
You are spot on. China, as you correctly pointed out, has a hard time understanding how a government cant be "all powerful" and rule over everything and anything within its country.

Yep, Whats truly shocking is the blatant manner the Chinese go about threatening other countries...they dont even bother with putting a veneer of diplomacy on their wording.
