Pam Geller: Obama illegitimate because parents had ‘sham’ marriage
Source: Raw Story
By David Edwards

Conservative activist Pam Geller now believes she has insight into the intimate details of President Barack Obama's parents' marriage.

The anti-Muslim Geller took up the cause of birtherism in a recent World Net Daily article where she claimed Obama was an illegitimate president because he was also an illegitimate child.

Her allegations were based on a recently released immigration file of President Obama's father, Barack Obama Sr.

"Stanley Ann Dunham was a white girl in a family way with a mixed-race child, desperate for legitimacy in a culture that condemned such behavior as abject immorality, and Barack Obama Sr. was a con man from Kenya desperate to stay in the USA," she wrote. "Was the marriage merely a business arrangement (she was 17 when she got pregnant)? Is that why it was so important to place the ads in the Hawaiian papers announcing the birth of the future president -- because his father was about to be deported?"

So a marriage makes one a legitimate American, not the fact that the mother is American - regardless of whether she was married or not.

Have some in this country gone stark, raving mad.

5. A business arrangement? With a 17-year-old girl?
That involved the girl's giving birth to a boy she obviously loved and adored?

When did this Geller woman last speak with a 17-year-old girl about boys and love and babies?

This theory is even sillier than the idea that Obama was born in Kenya.

doesn't matter where he was born. My daughter's husband is from France. When she has kids, she plans to have them born in France, because she wants them to have dual US and French citizenship so they can have access to French health care if something happens to her, and the France (unlike America) does require one to be born on French soil in order to claim citizenship, even if one's parents are French citizens.

62. No. Natural born means not "naturalized"--i.e., already a
citizen at birth (which he WAS no matter where he was born, simply because he is the child of an American citizen), not made a citizen later by being first not a citizen here and then applying as a foreigner to become a citizen..

18. This turns the immigration definition upside-down, inside-out.
Not only is Obama per se a US Citizen by virtue of birth on US soil, government investigators looking at the legitimacy of a marriage for immigration purposes presume that whenever there is a child born to a couple, the marriage was legitimate and not a "sham".

Ms. Geller is sadly misinformed.

53. Bottom line: There's nothing in the Constitution about having to have married parents .....
in the Constitution.

What's going to happen when an adopted person (biological parents unknown) decides to run for president?
Or when a person that was conceived by in-vitro-fertilization (egg and sperm donators unknown) that doesn't know either parent decides to run for president?

President Obama WAS BORN in The United States of America - he is an American Citizen by birth - end of story!

60. None of it matters: he was born on US soil with no other conditions
He was not a diplomat's kid. He was born in the United States.

His parentage is thus irrelevant. He is automatically a citizen regardless of his parent's status. Of course, his mother was also a citizen, so the whole thing is moot two-ways.

That birtherism is now a belief restricted to just 3% of the population shows how fringey and wacky these people are.
