Et tu, Beyonce?

Looks like Beyonce is releasing a cover of the uber-right-wing Lee Greenwood anthem "God Bless the USA". I had hoped that this song would fade from popular consciousness. It was bad enough having to listen to it ad nauseum during the 80's, then again when the teabagger crowd adopted it as their own. Now this. Ugh.

but it isn't the worst song in the world either. I love the message. Actually, seeing a Che cheerleader get worked up over it is pretty cool.

11. Wouldn't have expected it from a pop-music icon

I wouldn't expect this from someone like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, or any other top pop-music icon. Someone like Alan Jackson or Toby Keith, sure. I believe they rushed to their guitars right after 9/11 to pen some "pro-American" stuff to show just how patriotic they are.

I'm guessing we're about to enter another wave of musicians proving just how much they all love 'Murica
