He did the job he was hired to do - very well.

While the argument regarding his initial selection/election will rage for eons - the fact is it was awful damn close.

And why did the Republicans pick StupidAss?

1. He would be content to play dress up and would not ask too many questions.

2. If he did ask a question he would be easy to confuse with bullshit.

3. His raging stupidity would keep the media busy so no one else would ask too many questions.

4. He would believe what they told him and catapult the propaganda with true sincerity from the heart.

5. He's a born cheerleader and would work hard at presidentin' so Amurikins would feel good about the decider.

GW was a blinding success. In just a few short years of no one watching the candy store, nearly all the wealth shifted to the top and enough Americans were brainwashed into thinking they deserve their shit sandwich to keep the wealth shoveling machine safe for at least another generation. He did exactly what he was hired to do.

Barack Obama was hired to reverse the machinery.

Slow but sure Barack Obama is trying to swing the pendulum back in our direction, but machines that shovel the cash and power to the top and the shit sandwiches to everyone else aren't easily stopped let alone reversed. Clinton barely got the apparatus neutralized before the Republicans got hold the controls again. It's just that much harder for Obama.

Do I wish he would fight harder? Yeah, sometimes. Do I think he's made some mistakes that cost us opportunities? Definitely. But when it all comes down the man is doing great job against all the odds.

This is how propaganda works and why our country is so fucked up. Conservatives and the corporate dicks they service know that if you tweak and twist the language and how you present an idea, you can trick weaker minds into believing the most fucked up thing imaginable into being "true", like your OP, for instance. The fact is, based on what we humans universally throughout history have deemed to be 'success' in a President/Leader, Bush was an colossal failure - a disgrace. But your OP is an excellent example of why there is a Tea Party. This is how you trick the average Joe into fighting for Billionaire's rights.

On edit - I'm not trying to disparage your OP, but it was just an example of how the right wing machine works on a daily basis via the media to trick people into believing the opposite of what is true.

3. shrub was not a blinding success. he tarnished the brand.
i agree completely that he diligently enabled the "policy" initiatives the republicans wanted (if looting the treasury can be considered a policy).

however, in order for him to have truly been a success in his masters' eyes, he needed to have kept that illusion of competence and responsiblity that the republican party needs to stay on top. he blew that, so much so that we elected a BLACK guy rather than another republican.

6. Bush is a brain damaged drunk...acts like one, talks like one, even walks like one..
He is stuck in the Cheers Mode....some traits:::

nick names, rubbing bald heads, clowning, put downs(also a BULLY, and cannot answer series questions with credibility....

avoids science and other series subject matter because of his Density Factor....

We Had the Town Drunk in the OVAL...cannot even remember jokes...jus like other alcohol challenged peeps.
