Assuming the levees hold (and no reason they won't), this should be a major campaign piece against the anti-government Republicans - only a strong Federal Government has the resources to build and maintain the system that has stopped billions of dollars of damage in the Midwest and South.

1. Scarier question---how many who CONTROL the levees are anti-government?
For those people will be rooting for devastation due to governmental incompetence, the way they did during and after Katrina. They would rather have their anti-government theories validated, than to prove them wrong by saving lives.

2. No, Rand, you may not opt out of levee protection.
Not unless you move to an unprotected site. Tell you what -- the best way to do that is to go jump in a lake. ;-)
