Yay! TX teacher who made horrible comment to child about "her uncle (bin-Laden), won't be returning

Texas teacher out after bin Laden 'uncle' comment

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas (AP) -- A Texas school district says a teacher won't return to work after being accused of mocking an American-born Muslim student by asking if she was grieving because her "uncle" had died, a reference to Osama bin Laden.

The teacher was put on leave after making the alleged remark May 2, hours after bin Laden was killed in a U.S. military raid.

The incident involved a female student in a ninth-grade algebra class at Clear Brook High School in Friendswood, located 23 miles southeast of Houston.

District spokeswoman Elaina Polsen on Monday declined to say if the teacher was fired or resigned.

...with this teacher.

I mean really--I don't know of ANY teacher that I've EVER met who would be so biggoted and also so stupid. It's one
thing to be an ignorant bigot--but to actually voice your stupididity to a student in such a hateful way.

This person doesn't deserve to be a teacher. I'm glad that they are gone from the profession.

This teacher's actions truly boggle the mind.

You'd have to be worse than Rush Limbaugh to have those feelings in your heart AND to make that remark to
a student.

Crazy.

4. I've had one

My Com 102 professor. She didn't start showing it till about half way through the semester, but she was the most raciest person I have ever met. I logged a complaint with the english department, and I'm sure many other people did as well because I have not seen here around for a couple of semesters.
