The sign's text, before reading the exceprt is, "Bomb Making Next Driveway"

----------------
A feud between two Transit Road neighbors -- a homeowner and a mosque -- turned ugly this weekend when the homeowner staked a sign on his front lawn insinuating that the new 11,600-square-foot Islamic worship site is home to a "bomb making" operation.

...

"I would really think it's an incitement of hatred against Muslims," said Dr. Syed Jaffri, an Amherst psychiatrist and member of the mosque's board of trustees. "Law enforcement should take it very seriously. Tomorrow, somebody could say, 'Oh they have weapons,' and people believe it."

...

"The place is too close. I don't care what people think. It doesn't matter what people think," /Heick, the homeowner/ said Monday evening from his front porch. "This is a way to get answers now. I get none from the town. The intent was to catch the eye of the people who I have a problem with."

...

"/The sign/ does not say what driveway. It doesn't say at the mosque," he said. "I have issues with the mosque. The sign is not directed at anybody. If they feel it's at them, that's how they feel."

-----------------

I drive on Transit all the time. This has been quite the local "water cooler" conversation yesterday and this morning.

Edit: forgot brackets don't work as brackets. Pretend the slashes are brackets. Go ahead. Please?

1. This guy goes to church. Put a sign next to his church that says:

"Pedophiles next driveway".

Or

"False beliefs next left"

3. Saw this story on the news last night
I was horrified. I live no more than 5 miles from there. I think I'd rather have the mosque as my neighbor, rather than that homeowner.

6. Well if one threat or terrorist action is taken against that mosque, they know who it'll be.

7. The church should sue him for libel. You don't have the right to falsely accuse people.n/t

8. It is libel if a reasonable person would think he meant the mosque.

And it would not take long for a smart lawyer to round up a few neighbors who would testify that they thought he meant the mosque.
