Maddow calls out networks for booking mostly former Bush officials after bin Laden killing
Source: RawReplay

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow noticed that nine former Bush officials and Republicans were booked on the Sunday morning news shows to talk about the death of Osama bin Laden, while only three Democrats appeared.

“It has got to drive Democrats and the White House absolutely nuts,” Maddow said.

Republican Sen. Dick Lugar, Republican former presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, Republican former congressman Tom Davis, Bush administration CIA director Michael Hayden, Bush administration Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, Bush administration Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, Bush administration Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Bush administration Vice President Dick Cheney, and Liz Cheney, the daughter of the Bush administration’s vice president all appeared on Sunday morning news shows this week.

Obama administration National Security Advisor Tom Donilon, former Obama administration White House Communications Director Anita Dunn and Democratic Sen. John Kerry were the only Democrats to appear.

1. If a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound?
I doubt that the networks are listening.

6. But, but they needed to get the approval of the people who didn't capture OBL to make sure Obama did
a good job!

Do the Sunday talking heads even realize how insane this was???

I think I'm going to have to send off a few emails.

9. Network were not interested in news they went for the entertainment
value. If they could start a big argument they could revive the Tbaggers and have something to report on that was not important.

10. Her "why is that?" was rhetorical, of course. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out
that if you have two political parties, one of whom traditionally serves the financially disadvantaged (Democrats) and the other of whom serves those who have money (Republicans), and as program host/director in charge of deciding who to invite to appear on your show who are also coincidentally some of the highest paid figures in the media, .... well, guess who gets invited by a ratio of 3:1?
