COBRA (subsidized) help needed
If a person was laid off Feb 2010, they would get "up to 15 months" subsidized COBRA coverage. If they didn't get notified and on COBRA subsidy until 8/2010, when would their subsidized coverage end?

Source says end of 6/2011. To me this counts up as 10 months. But it is 15 months since laid off.

Any experts want to weigh in, would appreciate in as full cost is over $1000 and can't do that.

It looks to me like there is a serious penalty for failure to cover, but it does not appear that extending the COBRA period is part of that penalty. Penalty can be $100 per day or more if more people would have been covered by COBRA, also if medical expenses not covered during lack of notice period, probably can recover that. Appears that attys fees would also be covered, so check with a lawyer who handles this kind of law.
