Trump’s popularity tanks after Obama releases long-form birth certificate

WASHINGTON – Donald Trump's popularity among Republican voters has taken a huge dive in the wake of President Barack Obama releasing his birth certificate, according to a new poll.

Just eight percent of GOP primary voters supported him in a Public Policy Polling survey released Tuesday, putting him in a tie for fifth place. Last month, he led the crowded field with 26 percent in the same poll.

Since then, Obama released his long-form birth certificate, which slashed the number of so-called "birthers" in half.

The figures reflect the single-issue nature of Trump's dramatic surge, which now appears to have been followed by a similarly sharp drop after the issue was punctured.

1. Those 8% only watch Celebrity Apprentice.
And don't know about anything else. :D

2. Today is probably not a good day to call Republicans stupid.
Chuck Schumer wants a No Ride list.

Steny Hoyer wants a means test for Medicare.

And some of the heartless responses I have seen on DU to the terrible misery in the American South make me want to vomit.

3. And the other 92% are just stupid enough to be described by words.
But just barely.

5. Guess when your only campaign issue gets torpedo'd, your political fortunes do too.

6. Oh, I'm sure that it's much higher than 8%.
Maybe the 8% were just the ones who were able to mumble something close enough to "Trump" that it enabled the interviewers to mark them down in that column. ;-)

7. As stupid as they are, and that's a lot of stupid, there is one group that's even more stupid.
Watch for that number to go up by a few percent as the 8% keep beating the drum and the release of the certificate fades in public memory.

That few percent who become convinced again are officially the dumbest people ever.
