TSA baby pat-down photographer: “I’ve never seen anything quite that bad”

(some here denied it was a pat-down. well, it was a pat-down after all, confirmed by TSA...and here's more background from the photographer)

A baby pat-down photographer: “I’ve never seen anything quite that bad”
by CHRISTOPHER ELLIOTT on MAY 10, 2011

Jacob Jester is the Kansas City pastor who took the photo of two screeners at Kansas City International Airport patting down an eight-month-old baby last Saturday. I spoke with him about the incident, and the ensuing firestorm, this afternoon.

"I was flying from Kansas City to Albuquerque, NM, on Saturday, and I had already passed through security. There was a woman with a baby behind me — she was about the same age as my son, and that caught my attention. So I looked back."

"I saw them patting the baby down from top to bottom. The mom was holding the baby, and she was being very cooperative."

"I travel every week, and I’ve never seen anything quite that bad. I took out my phone and took a picture, and I tweeted it."

and just because the mom's smiling does not make it okay.

1. Nonsense. Her smile is an indication that it's perfectly acceptable behavior and good security.

3. Get the little ones accustom to absolute compliance early.
A good compliment to the teach to the test privatized education and mcjob waiting for them in the years to come.

4. Right his stroller set off the 'explosives screening' is that the same thing they use to
detect metal or is that an xray machine that made someone think 'could be a bomb'?

Are pets put through the scan machine or pat down? Cause someone might think to use a small dog or cat to smuggle stuff on a plane.

5. The KC airport uses private screeners

The Kansas City airport is one of 16 in the U.S. that uses private screeners, instead of those provided by the TSA, Kimball said, but private screeners follow government guidelines.

Mmmm-kay. :eyes:
