Canadian senator to be sentenced for defrauding govt, betraying public trust

Raymond Lavigne, a Liberal Party senator from Quebec, Canada, will face a judge to learn the consequences from his conviction for defrauding the Canadian government and betraying public trust. The prosecutor wants a 12-15 month sentence; "Lavigne was found guilty on March 11 of defrauding the government and breach of trust. He was found not guilty of obstruction of justice."

Hmm, I wonder when American bought-and-paid-for-by-lobbyist politicians will have their days in court?
