Chris Matthews: Bush was ‘wise ass rich kid’ about bin Laden

MSNBC host Chris Matthews said Tuesday that former President George W. Bush had a “wise ass” attitude about terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.

“I’m not a Bush hater, but that was wise-ass behavior there,” he said. “Just wise-ass. I mean this is the rich kid acting like I don’t care about that old girlfriend that dumped me. That was behavioral weirdness right there.”

Matthews’ guest Joan Walsh suggested Bush tried to downplay the importance of capturing or killing Osama bin Laden so that Americans would focus on Saddam Hussein and Iraq.

16. Matthews also likes being on the side of and associated with "winners."
He honestly thought McCain was going to win I think until about the last two weeks or so. He then started to waffle on his JMC rhetoric. He knows President Obama is a winner in all respects, the OBL takedown was the icing on that cake.

18. Matthews says a lot of stupid shit
Little Georgie was indeed a wise-ass rich kid -- and much worse -- but there is no significance when Tweety says it.

5. without bin Laden attacking us on 9/11
Dumbya wouldn't have had an excuse to invade Iraq -- which was his plan all along. He just had to get back at Saddam for trying to kill his daddy! :eyes: It was never Dumbya's intention to capture bin Laden, why do you think he said just six months after 9/11 that Osama was not a concern? Dumbya probably sent bin Laden a thank you card for perpetrating 9/11 and giving him an excuse to take out Saddam.

7. If memory serves ...
... Didn't the Bin Laden's help fund one of Junior's failed businesses (Harken?)?

I think some of the Bin Laden family were having breakfast with the Bushies in Kennebunkport the morning of 9/11/2001, too.

Yeah, the Bush & Bin Laden families are tight.

9. Yes, the bin Ladens had an agent that handled their business with Bush.
James Bath admitted to being an agent for Saudi financial interests. He invested $50K in Arbusto. Had ties to Saleem bin Laden and was a director in BCCI. He was a TANG buddy of Junior's and they both got kicked out of the wing at about the same time (unfit for duty).

Bush Sr was in Washington, DC on 9/10 (overnighted at the WH) and was meeting with the Board of Directors of the Carlyle group on the morning of 9/11. The bin Laden family were also directors of Carlyle. Bush Sr. quietly left for Milwaukee that day, I believe. Maybe he went looking for Junior who was busy staying out of sight until the coast was clear.

and left with it heavily in debt. I can't find the name of the company. It was the Bin Laden family's ( who disowned Osama) buy-in into the Carlyle Group.

Poppa was meeting with some Saudis in DC on 9/11.

This is from memory.

Bush tried to take the focus off Bin Laden in Afghanistan and put the focus on Saddam Hussein in Iraq.

13. Not a big fan of the "go with the wind" Mathews but if he says it that means DC is saying it
he follows the trends that keep people on his show and him in work.

He doesn't offer opinion he tells you what the general consensus is - slightly differently than Scarborough and his guests do.
