"No more excuses - end this war" -- SOJO
Tell Congress: End the War in Afghanistan (Link provides place to write your letter)

How long will we bear this horrible war? How many more deaths? How many more dollars?

It is time to end the war, and leaders in Congress have introduced important legislation that would direct President Obama to present an exit strategy for U.S. forces from Afghanistan.

The “Afghanistan Exit and Accountability Act” (HR 1735) will show President Obama how much support he has to begin a real withdrawal plan this summer, but only if it has robust support by members of Congress.

Ask your representative to co-sponsor this important legislation today -- we expect a vote on it before Memorial Day.

2. I agree.. I don't think we should even be there.. but I don't think we will leave...
The USA wants to stop China from developing an oil corridor from the Port of Gwadhar Pakistan, thru Afghanistan and into China. That is the whole purpose of the war in Afghanistan... to destabilize the region and break it into small tribal areas to then be taken over by American Oil companies.

But stranger then fiction.. while we want to stop China's oil excursions.. we are more than willing to build factories there.. ship our jobs there.. give them super-computers and access to all our high-tech war toys.

I wonder how this can end well? Especially in light of the fact that it was the USA that taught Afghanistan how to bankrupt the Russians? I guess no one in Washington remebers back that far.

There is NO win here.. the best bet would be to declare victory and bring the trops home before we are hit by a couple of Nuke Missiles from Pakistan.

7. and start going to anti-war rallies
They won't end the wars until we have millions of people on the streets.

Remember, the more money they spend on war, the less money for you here.

Austerity and cuts to social services are the inevitable outcome of people failing to stop these wars. There is no free lunch. Either force them to end the wars or lose your benefits.

8. Thank you so very much for the threats.
I already know I will die for my country.

Is that enough for you? Make you happy?

9. A threat is something of this form:
"Do A, else *I* will do B!"

I am not telling you I will do anything.

I am telling you what *they* will do, or what will happen.

Therefore this is more akin to a foretelling.

10. A passive threat is still a threat. The compassion is underwhelming.

Maybe when YOU walk in the shoes, you might gain some concept.

Until then.. I only want to converse with people with a heart.

So long.

11. What's a passive threat?
"If you don't do A, I won't do B?"

Nah, still fails. Like I said, this doesn't involve me doing or not doing anything.

And you're right, I'm not a very compassionate guy. Still, I would much rather my tax money go to providing help and services to the poor, than murdering and oppressing some poor unfortunate muslims or arabs overseas just so the scumbag stockholders of Halliburton, Exxon Mobil, Raytheon, Goldman Sachs, etc. etc. etc., can make some extra profits. I mean, how much f*cking compassion does one need to oppose mass murder and this country being destroyed? The have-nots being victimized even more by the haves?

Sorry, one does not need much compassion at all to side with Right.

May I be the first.

13. Do not preach to me about PEACE
You need to learn about WAR. Specifically, that there is a WAR being waged against you. It is called CLASS WAR. And Imperialist Wars of conquest that are on-going overseas are part of that WAR.

Ignore what I say if you wish. Reality is that which does not change when ignored.
