1. An outlier poll,
Of course that's what you get when forty six percent of your respondents consider themselves Democrats, twenty eight percent consider themselves 'Pugs, and only seven percent consider themselves independents.

Looking at the other polls, Obama's numbers hover at right around fifty percent.

4. And the RCP average is running at 51.8%
Like I said above, AP is an outlier poll.

It is hard to take any poll seriously that weights its numbers either one direction or another when it comes to party identification. We blast other polls when they did this for Bush, it is no different with Obama.

Take your average number, 51.8% and be happy with it. It is better than what Bush had for much of his term in office. However I would be worried about the other part of those polls, the question asking if people are satisfied with the direction the country is headed. That's where your sixty percent figure is coming into play, and if sixty percent of the people don't like where the country is headed, it doesn't bode well for either Obama or the Dems come next election.

5. The only reason RCP's average is low is because there are
republican leaning polls in there like Rasmussen that shouldn't even be counted since the majority of the time they have a negative number when the other polls hardly ever do.

6. And thus they counteract the Democratic leaning AP poll
Look, I know you want to crow and cheer about sixty percent:party: But you only make yourself look foolish. Look at the AP poll. On page thirty seven it asks for respondents political leanings. Like I said earlier, the breakdown was 46-28-7, Dem, 'Pug, Independent. That is as bad a skewing in favor of the Dems as Rasmussen does for 'Pugs. That is why they are outlier polls.

It is because of such tactics that it is always best to take an average of a number of different polls, it gives you a more accurate picture of how people truly feel.

9. Not trying to rain on your parade,
Just dealing with the world in a reality based way. I suggest you do the same.

Like I said upthread, I would worry less about Obama's personal poll numbers and worry more about the sixty odd percent of the country that feel we're headed in the wrong direction. It is those kind of numbers that lose elections for everybody.
