Very odd conversation overheard in the elevator today

So I get into the elevator to go out and get lunch today. Two people are in the there, chatting:

Him: Yeah, checked the air conditioner and had to call the service man...

Her: Oh? What was wrong?

Him: The service guy said the cops caught some guy huffing Freon out of air conditioning units in our neighborhood and I guess ours was one of them.

thieves have been stealing copper from air conditioning units at churches in one county. And a day care center and in another area, an animal rescue group, have been forced to shut down because their air-conditioning units were stolen for the copper.

Crack must be getting expensive or something!

Huffing freon, gasoline, the synthetic "marijuana", "cocaine", and now "bath salts". I talked with a kid about why he was exposing his body to such chemicals, and the answer was simple, it's legal, dope isn't.

Reminds me of a story a few years back. In order to combat meth makers, all anhydrous ammonia used for fertilizing is dyed a bright pink. Apparently one night a desperate meth freak decided to siphon off some anhydrous from a tank sitting in a field. Instead he busted the top open, wound up with a face full of ammonia. He was found wandering the field the next morning, in pain, blinded, with a bright pink head.

Just more reasons we need to legalize dope and other drugs, to keep people from getting into the really hard and harmful chemical shit.

Why don't we change the culture so it's not so painful to live in.

Someone stripped all the copper from the a/c units outside, and damaged the building in the process.

I work peripherally in the A/C industry and I couldn't believe this was happening. People are insane.
