If the rapture is supposed to happen on the 21st, and if any believers are left, then the logical conclusion will be that they were not actually saved, which means they won't be able to honestly tell anyone else how to be saved. Any preaching after that point will be by people who were deluded before.

Right? No more televangelists, no more door-knockers, no more street preachers. Right?

1. Gays will be able to marry. Women can have unrestricted abortions.
No more tax-free megachurches, either. People will put their money in circulation instead of giving it to the wealthy preachers.

It could restore life in America.

2. No more un-necessary wars??!!! I wish! but did you see what the House sneaked
Edited on Thu May-12-11 05:53 PM by patrice
into a defense appropriations bill this week?:

Funding for un-Ending Wars that do not require congressional approval

So, the Evangelicals will just move their show onto the road as missionaries, until, golly! darn it! gee-whizz! we just HAVE to invade another sovereign nations for the good of their souls.

19. Thanks for the update Patrice.
Haven't heard this mentioned anywhere. I suppose both sides of the aisle are pretty pleased right now.

Meanwhile, Rachel has been prattling about Ensign, which I see as a side issue.

Wish we had a real news media somewhere in this country.

3. wrong
Most evangelicals don't believe this. It certainly isn't biblical. The New Testament makes it clear that nobody knows the day or hour of the end of time.

5. I'm hoping
I'm hoping they show their convictions for their beliefs and pull a big 'Heaven's Gate' type scenario! Truly. I'm praying for that.

6. So how many Christians believe that will happen on the 21st? Not many.
In fact most Christians do not believe in the "doctrine" of the Rapture, one which requires scriptures to be misinterpreted and forced together to work.

The majority of Christians are not door knockers or evangelicals.

7. The point of the OP seemed to be not Christians, but
those door knockers and evangelicals that should disappear. Well, maybe this will shut a few of them up for a little while while they ponder why god hates them.

17. Probably not. I heard that the guy who came up with this latest scheme had a 1994 prediction
that obviously was wrong.

9. Absolutely correct. In fact prior to 1930 we had only what I call traditional
churches in the USA. Their message had little to do with the end times and all to do with salvation and concern for our fellow human beings. The small groups that did teach this crap were mainly no more than sects. The push by Jerry Falwell and Ronald Reagan is what made them the new mainstream. The old churches are still here just have very little say in anything.

13. The important thing, though,
is to let them know that you're aware of their lost salvation. That if they are still here on earth after May 21st it because they got left behind and it is proof positive they are not one of the chosen ones.

How much fun will that be? (Considering, it will be every single person who believes in this horse shit. Hehe.) And there's other fun to be had at the expense of these rapture ready weirdos. Have them sign title to their home/boat/auto/any luxury item they will be leaving behind, over to you, as proof of their belief. If they can't back up their crazy beliefs they need to shut up about them. Period.
