Come gather 'round people wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown

It doesn't matter if you are short or tall, big or small. It doesn't matter if you are a liberal or a conservative. If you work for a living and depend on a wage to survive, then you are a victim of the class warfare now being perpetrated upon the American people. As we are diverted by partisan politics and other divisive issues, they are putting their boots on our throats to choke out the last bit of air in our bodies.

They feel confident that they now have the numbers and the political allies to destroy whatever protections the people of this nation have fought for. Unfortunately, they may be right? Just look at the arrogance of the Big Oil executives yesterday before Congress. We do not have the fighters we need in the trenches. They are not tough. They are too compromised by the system to understand the severity of the crisis we now face.

If we don't hang together, we will all hang separately. And it will not matter a whole lot if you have an "R" by your name or a "D" by your name. It is about greed. If you are not one of them, then you are one of us. That is the direction we are going and elections will matter little if we do not unite as a people.

1. I remember a scene in an old Russian movie.
Set in pre-revolutionary Russia, a carriage carrying some aristocrats was driving by a crowd of hungry peasants and the aristocrats tossed some trash out the window which landed at the feet of the crowd. It was a metaphor for the socioeconomic situation before the revolution. Don't recall which film it was.

2. "and accept it that soon you'll be drenched to the bone
if your time to you is worth savin'.
You better start swimmin' or you'll sink like a stone,
for the Times They Are A Changin'."

You know what lyrics keep going through my head with all of this? That line from The Wall:

". . . and the bleeding hearts and artists make their stand."
