Russ, you're a progressive champion. You've stood up time and again for everyday Americans when few others would. You led the charge for real campaign finance reform, against the war in Iraq, and against the Bush Administration's blatant attacks on American civil liberties.

Now, more than ever, we need you back in the U.S. Senate.

Draft Russ Feingold

Earlier today, Democratic Sen. Herb Kohl announced he was retiring after 24 years in Washington.

Thankfully, there's a progressive champion waiting in the wings to step up and keep this seat for the Democrats in 2012: Russ Feingold.

1. I'd rather see him run for governor of Wisconsin,

when that horrible Walker is recalled.

If the recall fails, which I somehow doubt, unless they steal it, let him run in the regular election against Scottie.

3. He has the statewide name recognition and reputation to beat Walker.

Unlike last fall, Democrats here need to support him with more than just their mouths.
