It's going to take years but heads are going to roll - big heads.

Throw out you thoughts and make your puns here.

7. True
And none of this has anything to do with Barack Obama.

I'm not saying this thing is like Watergate. I'm saying (I think) it's going to be as big as Watergate. Legislators will go to prison. An entire political party will be ruined for a generation. A very powerful organization will go down in flames. It's gonna rock our world and we shall have an American public glued to the television, watching live hearings.

This is my prediction.

16. I understand what you're arguing.
But I don't think a senate scandal (Ensign) can do near as much damage to a party as a presidential scandal. (Watergate) My reference to Ensign not being the president was in comparison to Nixon, not Obama.

This will be damaging - that is true. But not as much as Watergate, which involved the resignation of a sitting president.

17. "An entire political party will be ruined for a generation"
The generation of a fruit fly, maybe.

Nixon resigned in August of '74.

Reagan won in November of '80.

Just over six years.

6. Maybe if this were Boehner or Cantor
But Ensign was just a "backbencher"

Still, if it takes down Coburn, I'll be more than satisfied.

His own constituents have already sent him packing.

There's no way he could have any effect.

21. Watergate involved Americans against the President - Kissinger and friends, Washington
Post Graham and friends - Bilderberg and friends - it was a coup.

I would compare Ensign to the attempt to get Clinton to resign

The key is an affair and lies and money.

Points:

Sexual - both heterosexual

Lies - Major for Ensign, trifle for Clinton, but is was enough for an impeachment which demanded an incredible expense of time and money because of Republicans having fun, but it made the rest of the world laugh at us.

Cover-up: Major for Ensign.

Money: Major for Ensign.

Involving other Senators: Major for Ensign

Media: So far, FOX may be in quite serious trouble. On the Clinton side, Newsweek played along with the schemes to trip up Clinton and worked with legal elves and didn't even get a demerit.

Media 2: All corporate networks were blatantly Republican to take down Clinton - there was no Maddow or Olberman. Now, the Republican corporate networks are going to have to sit straight in their chairs and cough alot with Ensign. It will be painful for them.

FBI: So far, the FBI isn't involved with Ensign's affair. The FBI helped the Republicans take down (impeach) Clinton and employees of a US Govt Trust stretched plenty in relations to that handles banking mortages may have negatively set things up for smearing Clinton. No repercussions fo the FBI or the Trust.

There is time to concentrate on an affair comparison to further show the degree of absurd lengths that the Republicans took with Clinton.

Ensign to Watergate isn't a strong match.
Engsing to Clinton is
and it will educate and emphasize the seriousness of the extent that Ensign went to.

And more people will stop to listen with both ears about Clinton and learn that it wasn't anything close to Ensoigns mess.

If the press lets it die for Ensign - Democrats should make sure everyone knows about Ensign - a real stretch, a real battle, because the Republican networks will work hard to lose it as a story if we let them.

and BC wasn't her first conquest!I think the only thing of value they shared was a pizza,if BC would have owned up right away it might have died down, or HC might have killed him!

25. Not even close.
Seriously, get a hold of yourself. In addition to forcing a president to resign, Watergate resulted in seven or eight top officials serving jail time, including the attorney general. Several others were indicted but not convicted. Comparing the Ensign scandal to Watergate is like comparing a spring shower to Hurricane Katrina.

It will not prosecute Ensign. He's a Republican after all.
