Karl Rove just gave corwyn (R) $650,000 (NY 26 spec elec) I am sending her opponent $5

Corwyn has over a million bucks in her kitty...Karl Rove gave her $650,000 and the republican party a whole bunch more.

The Democratic in the race, Kathy Hochul, has $250,000 from the Dem Party and no big donations. So, my partner and I are sending her $5 If I had Karl Rove's money I'd send her a bigger check but I'm not. I'm a teacher with big student loans to worry about...so I figure I'd send a little bit, and then I'd open my big mouth and yak about it on DU and hopefully there are some other people with something to spare this month.

I would so dearly love to see kkkarl learn that all the money in the world can't get another knuckle-dragger into Congress. Wouldn't that be a wonderful message to send him and the rest of the bad guys?

HOWEVER, it's a shitload of money that they originally hadn't expected to have to cough up. Perhaps that will mean the difference between a contribution for her now and NOT being able to make a contribution to some other knuckle-dragger or teabagger elsewhere. If they have to dial 911 to their donors THIS EARLY in contests where there originally was no contest, it may have some adverse impact on how lavishly some of those donors can cough up more later. And it may prove to be prohibitive to the smaller donors who freaked out and coughed it up and find they don't have as much to give farther down the road when it's REALLY gonna make a difference perhaps in their own district.

Now, on the other hand, it could just be that the rising tide against the GOP, and the triangulation of various teabaggers pulling votes away from them, might mean Kathy Hochul will win. And THAT would be BEEE-YOOOOOOO-TEEEEE-FUUUUULLLLL! It certainly would start panicking some people. Especially if they'd just squandered a shitload of money on a losing candidate in what should have been a sure-win district. That would go far towards further destabilizing the enemy. Which is Job One. Destabilize the enemy!
