Bill would speed troops through TSA checkpoints
Bill would speed troops through TSA checkpoints

A Navy veteran in Congress wants expedited screening procedures created so service members in uniform aren’t delayed trying to make it through airport screening.

“Common sense says they should not be viewed as potential terrorists in our airports,” said Rep. Chip Cravaack, R-Minn., a retired Navy captain with 24 years of service.

Cravaack has introduced a bill calling on the Transportation Security Administration to come up with a policy that speeds service members and their families through security checkpoints when they are traveling on official orders. He called them a “low-risk group that is ideally suited for an accelerated security screening process.”

The second-ranking Republican on the House Homeland Security subcommittee on aviation, Cravaack is in good position to try to get the bill, HR 1801, passed.

1. The tea baggers believe
that there is a 50 year plot to put a terrorist in the white house, why don't they believe that a terrorist can do something as simple as join the military? It just seems like crazy is so inconsistent.

6. You do not even need to join the service
really. You can buy yourself a uniform, get a nice haircut... and all that.

Silly wabbits...

2. He apparently forgets Hasan Malik and Ft. Hood
and a few weeks back border patrol in AZ pulled over a van load of illegal migrants in full military garb.

4. Common sense says that an 80-year old woman in a wheelchair shouldn't be viewed as a terrorist.
Nor should an infant in a stroller, but that doesn't stop the TSA from conducting a warrantless search without cause.

What does Rep. Cravaak think about that.

5. I was going to make a sarcastic post, stating "Even the Muslim ones?",
but apparently, another poster beat me to it, sans sarcasm.
