Don't worry America, we know you won't do a damn thing for us. That's what we expect of you.

Gov. Bobby Jindal announced Friday afternoon that the Morganza Spillway will be opened within the next 24 hours due to the high water on the Mississippi River.
Jindal said the state received permission from U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Michael Walsh, president of the Mississippi River Commission, to open the spillway. Within the Atchafalaya Basin there are about 2,500 people and 2,000 structures that could be at risk. The trigger for opening the Morganza Spillway is when 1.5 million cubic feet per second of water is flowing by the Red River Landing. Gates on the Morganza Spillway structure have been opened only once since the project was built in 1954. That was in 1973, when about 42 of the 126 gates in the structure were opened. The structure operates as a safety valve by diverting water from the Mississippi River north of Baton Rouge to the Atchafalaya Basin, where it then flows into the Gulf of Mexico.

1. LA gets $1.78 from the federal government for every dollar of federal taxes paid there..
I know that's not what you're talking about but that money has to help at least a little bit.

3. And included in the bulk of that is the ACoE padding their budget on spending
That instead of protecting Louisians actually contributes to death. But that's fine with them the can then get more money cause of destruction they help create.

2. I read one report that indicated
the water was either going through the Morganza Spillway or eventually over the top of it. That may have been in error, but there is a tremendous amount of water heading down the river. I would hate to be part of the decision making process on this one.
