MSNBC Wants To Know If Osama Was Looking At Porn For The Intelligence
Edited on Sat May-14-11 10:55 AM by no limit

MSNBC all morning kept asking in their headlines if Osama Bin Laden was watching porn to send secret coded messages. Yes...seriously.

Why? Because apparently at one time the FBI was so surprised by how much porn they were finding on terrorists computers they investigated the possibility that this porn was being used to send secret messages over the internet.

These guys weren't smart enough to encrypt their data using simple programs such as TruCrypt but they were smart enough to encode secret messages in porn then send them around the internet? How could MSNBC ask such a question throughout it's headlines as if it was a serious question?

Perhaps the better question MSNBC should be asking is if this is simply more conformation that this conflict is less about religion but more about our foriegn policy?

It was reported that a number of 9/11 hijackers gambled and visited strip clubs in Vegas prior to the 9-11 attacks. Apparently the Fort Hood schooter was also a frequent strip club visitor before he went on to kill 13 people. For people that have such a strict interpretation of the Koran that they think they need to kill themselves for Allah are going to risk hell by gambling and visiting strip clubs?

Maybe these people aren't the religious fanatics the media likes to paint them as? Maybe they aren't doing what they are doing because the Koran told them to do it? Maybe the far more logical explaination is that they are doing what they are doing because they don't like bombs falling on them thanks to the US government. http://www.leftunderground.com/threads/283-White-phosphorus-raining-down-on-Gaza?p=843">Maybe US sponsored white phosphorus raining down on the most densly populated areas in the world is more to blame for this than the Koran?

Nah, that can't be it. MSNBC has much better questions to be asking. Such as if Osama Bin Laden was watching porn for the intelligence.

6. If it's physical magazines and videos
then this makes steganography quite a bit less plausible than if he had their digital counterpart.

5. I wouldn't totally dismiss the idea.
At glance, the notion that they were hiding secret messages in porn seems laughable, but that's what makes it plausible.

There are simple, easy to use steganography programs they could have used to embed messages in images...

7. We are dealing with a guy that didn't know how to encrypt thumb drives properly
and the porn was found in his bedroom according to reports. Although nobody is disputing that encoding such messages is possible in this case the idea that this is what Osama was going is laughable.

9. I think if there is a reason other than..

that OBL enjoyed watching porn, it would be that it was to be used as an example to recruits of the moral depravity of the western world and primarily the USA. That would present a rather ugly picture of what the west is all about....and provide a powerful rationale that we are evil and deserve to be destroyed.

Gimme a break. Men generally have porn on their computers for one and only one reason--and it ain't anthropological analysis.

20. Hah...reminds me of a brother in law
who frowned on Rock Music because it was sent here by The Devil®

He didn't have the same opinion of porn, though. Neither did my sister...his wife. She said she watched it because of the "great plots".
