Shirley Sherrod: BACK IN THE US---BACK IN THE US---BACK IN THE USDA!
Shirley Sherrod, the U.S. Department of Agriculture employee who was forced out after a portion of a videotape was misleadingly used to show her making a racially insensitive remark, will start working for the USDA again, the department told POLITICO Friday.

But she’s not getting her old job back. Instead, Sherrod will help the USDA improve its dismal civil rights record.

Sherrod will be a contract employee leading one of three field programs designed to bolster relations between the USDA and minority farmers and ranchers. Support for the programs is among several recommendations contained in a sweeping, two-year study released Wednesday that examined decades of discrimination claims by African Americans, Latinos, women and Native Americans.

The three organizations — the Southwest Georgia Project for Community Education, the National Latino Farmers & Ranchers Trade Association and the Intertribal Agriculture Council — will target minority farmers in the Southeast, the Southwest and Native American reservations, said Justin DeJong, USDA deputy director of communications. The programs are “part of our continued effort to build a new civil rights era” after settling costly discrimination lawsuits brought by minority farmers.

Sherrod will run the Southwest Georgia project, which she co-founded, DeJong said. The program, he added, “is considered among the best southeastern regional organizations focused on the issues and populations affected by this assessment and has a strong relationship and understanding of the work of USDA.”

Andrew Breitbart will also be running...like the fucking little rodent he is!

8. born in '63 and shared a room with a brother 9 years my elder
I distinctly remember the first time I ever heard "Strawberry Fields". It is one of my earliest memories.

But I later turned into a huge Bowie Fan.

15. You should though...
there's a lot of great music out there. If you're into Rock/Blues, try the Black Keys or Raconteurs . Folk fan? Try The Tallest Man on Earth or Billy Bragg. Metal? Try Deftones or GlassJaw or Parkway Drive. Indie Music? Try John Vanderslice or Mountain Goats or Decemberists or Shins.

Honestly, there is TOO MUCH good music out there... i try to keep up. I don't listen to the radio, but when i find a band i like, i search for similar bands, follow trails to stuff i like hearing. I love the listening kiosks in 'record stores' nowadays. And music services like Rhapsody have been great for my search for good music.

Cheers and have fun!

:)

20. Which phase?
Bowie himself has said that during the early-mid 80s he was just doing it for the money.

22. pretty much all of it, Diamond Dogs was the first one I really got into
but Ziggy Stardust wasn't far behind. Then Pin Ups and Hunky Dory (both at about the same time for me).

He lost me a little with Tin Machine but not for long.

I like pretty much everything he put out, some more than others but with his range of styles I guess that is to be expected.

17. Sherrod filed a $13 million defamation lawsuit against conservative activist Andrew Breitbart
You go girl!! Hope the judge triples the amount. Breitbart needs to learn he's not a brilliant propagandist for the right. He's a liar whose slander is libelous, has caused great damage to her reputation, and is easily proven.

The truth will not need to be edited Breitbart.

18. Andy Boy should have his own show on FAUX
He fancies himself a journalist, just like the "reporters" on Fox do, when all he and they really are is a bunch of wingnuts vomiting hate-filled bullshit on the country.
