You know, I'm not too bright, but forcing your penis into an unwilling
person's mouth could, mind you I say COULD, result in a significant problem...or two...or even three.

Just remarking...I mean, WTF do I know?????

Oh yes: link for those of you who demand such:

5. I hope he's managed to steal enough for his mink lined retirement
At some point, the charges will be plea bargained down to a slap on the wrist, but his gig as IMF chief is over.

Yes, he should do hard time. But he won't. He'll be left on the street thinking every woman's body is his to use.

6. The rape, and it appears to have happened, was about power and privilege.
A man that rents a $3,000 per night room could afford even the most expensive escorts in NYC. The IMF head did not want pay for play, he wanted forced subjugation.

7. Not if the unwilling person is unconscious.
Years ago, there was a surgeon who was known for jacking off into patients' mouths while they were under.

It was a nurse who reported him.

Of course, she was fired.

25. Indeed he and his goons specialize in fucking up
economies so they can be privatized for next to nothing.

On the other hand he is leading Sarkozy et al in the Presidential polls so I need to know that this wasn't a set up. Not looking good for him -note that little news item about leaving the cell phone. Many folks leave cell phones but it suggests that he left in a hurry.

27. IMF is in the business of forcible sodomy. Tis' true.
I mean have you ever seen the conditions they, along with the World Bank, impose on small countries in exchange for loans? It's disgusting.

I never thought I'd say this about a rapist, but this is nothing compared to his day-job. She should have gelded him however, he don't want those sick IMF motherfuckers breeding.

10. "Browne said Strauss-Kahn does not have diplomatic immunity. "
:fistbump:

I'm sure there are a lot of people in Ireland, Portugal and Greece glad to see this guy go down. The IMF allowed the banks to run bubbles on those economies, then made the people take the hit when the wheels came off. It's more than people losing houses; it's also cuts in social welfare, cuts in student aid and increases in tuition.

14. "Everybody KNOWS you can't force a chick to give you a blow job."
I overheard a male police officer spout that shit in a bar while he was commenting on a police call he responded to that had been given a lot of media coverage. Four men had held a woman at knife point in a hotel bathroom and they forced her compliance...

I realize you probably did not mean anything harmful by your comment because it does seem like common sense. Having said that, I would urge caution with comments like that lest you be seen as demeaning the victim.

17. Men are victimized as well sometimes. Would you behave the same way in that case?
I went out of my way NOT to accuse you. I'd appreciate it if you'd stop and consider how your attitude can impact on anyone who has been assulted sexually. THAT was all I was asking for with my original comment.

Have a nice day.

20. A speculative exculpatory theory
I've been trying to understand how it came to be that a prominent and famous 62 year-old man, a confirmed skirt-chaser, but a smart guy nonetheless, would suddenly decide to commit, for the first time in his life, a horrendous act of violence, and to violently rape a total stranger, in a setting -- his own hotel suite -- where he was certain to be identified and apprehended.

This doesn't make a lot of sense.

When I read the article posted above, one possible explanation occurred to me, as follows: maybe this guy was drunk, had already called an escort for some rough play who was en route to his room, maybe there was a screw-up at the front desk and they sent the maid to clean the room in error, as reported, and when she enters the room, the IMF guy jumps her, thinking she's the escort. So was ensued was a actually a real assault, but it would also be a case of mistaken identify.

This is just a theory. I've no investment in this guy, his future, the IMF, or the legal outcome, and I await seeing justice done. It's just that the story doesn't make sense to me as it stands.

32. 62 years?
That would be a long time to be engaging in acts of violence and not getting caught. It doesn't seem plausible. His high-profile relationship and professional meltdown a few years ago involved an inappropriate consensual relationship with an IMF staff member without any hint of compulsion, let alone violence. There are no known victims of sexual predations by him before the incident in NYC.

Edited on Mon May-16-11 12:10 AM by themadstork
A white wealthy male - certainly wouldn't be impossible to cover up a history of sexual abuse/harassment.

Maybe he was just feeling outrageously cruel and this is a first-time thing. I guess I'm more inclined to see a dude that's the head of the IMF and now an accused sex offender as likely being sociopathic, which would imply he's been abusing and manipulating people his entire life. Moving up the ranks in an org as historically heartless as the IMF, and now a possible sex crime? Just sets off a lot of alarms for me.

22. To bite the penis is to risk infectious disease or..
perhaps a violent outburst from the perpetrator.

This is like asking why someone would dig their own grave with a gun held to their head. Survival instincts kick in and you may fight back, or you might choose the path of least resistance.

23. Abuse of power by those who have it is a terrible thing. On a side note,
why the remark re link? People don't really "demand" such, but when a post doesn't have a whole lot of information other than just an opinion (reread the OP to the five question marks), where is the problem with providing a link to an article upon which the opinion or statement may be based.

Making colourful assumptions based on a report is not what Americans should do. *shrug*

But let's have at it. *LOL*

Excerpt from OP link:

The 32-year-old maid told authorities that when she entered his spacious, $3,000-a-night suite early Saturday afternoon, she thought it was unoccupied. Instead, Strauss-Kahn emerged from the bathroom naked, chased her down a hallway and pulled her into a bedroom, where he sexually assaulted her, New York Police Department spokesman Paul J. Browne said.

The woman told police she fought him off, but then he dragged her into the bathroom, where he forced her to perform oral sex on him and tried to remove her underwear. The woman was able to break free again, escaped the room and told hotel staff what had happened, authorities said.

--------------------------------------------------------

When I was 32 no 60 something year old guy would have been fast enough to catch me or strong enough to drag me into a bathroom, much less get me down to put his ding dong into my mouth. No way. A 40 year old guy, maybe.
