Charity apologizes for placing Burmese refugees in cockroach-infested Milwaukee apartments

MILWAUKEE — Dozens of Burmese refugees fleeing persecution back home have been living in squalid, cockroach-infested apartments in Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Sunday that Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan placed the refugees in the apartments, which Fox Point lawyer Daniel Bruckner owns.

The newspaper investigation (http://bit.ly/lypP3v ) found Bruckner has been cited for hundreds of city building code violations, faces four city lawsuits, is delinquent on property taxes and has seven felony child pornography convictions..........................
