5. If you ever wonder why the public is so politically stupid
Look no further than this. The incredible amount of air time and printer's ink spent on this vanity "run" is astounding. Because every reporter, every editor, every producer involved knew for a fact that T Rump was never going to file papers for a formal candidacy. Yet their breathless coverage of every last detail crowds out so many other, more worthy stories that actually have an effect on their viewers and readers. As a result, we know so very much about T Rump and his ego, but we know nothing about the prospects for social security and medicare, or why raising the debt ceiling matters and how fiscally suicidal it would be to fail to raise it.

6. Precisely the point of my OP. Our media is less than worthless. They're dangerous.
The media doesn't neglect America. The media does actual harm to America.
