Newt Gingrich: ‘Any Ad Which Quotes What I Said On Sunday Is A Falsehood’
To say that Gingrich is in crisis mode is not necessarily hyperbole. The former House Speaker and GOP thought leader has been toying with running for president for what seems like years now, and coming out of the gate, he has more than stumbled; he’s fallen flat.

It all started when he appeared on Meet the Press on Sunday and told host David Gregory that he believed that the individual mandate plan put forth by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), and supported by nearly the entire House Republicans) was radical.

Since then he’s put out his own YouTube video repudiating the comments he made on Sunday

2. Newt's campaign would be better off if he had the courage of his convictions.
I mean, it would be better off if he *had* any convictions.

4. "Any ad which quotes what I said...is a falsehood."
I really thought Jon Kyl's "My statements were not intended to be factual" took the cake. I now realize Newt is the cherry on top of that cake.

13. It should be standard practice for media interviews of Republicans
Right after any Republican blathers on in answer to a question, the interviewer should ask "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" style, "Is that your final answer?" I remember the steady stream of "clarifications" out of the Bush administration when us poor, dumb proles took something some idiot in the White House said at face value. The next day, or the next week, or the next month (God forbid), when it turned out to be a bald-faced lie, we'd be treated to the clarification that despite what we thought we heard George or Dick or Donald say, they really meant something else entirely.

Newt's squarely in the Republican mainstream.
