Don’t Try This At Home: New Law Would Bar Sex in Home By Couples Awaiting Divorce
Edited on Wed May-18-11 12:52 PM by alp227
Wrentham Selectman Robert Leclair believes that there is a long overdue problem that needs to be addressed on Beacon Hill: parents having sex in their homes while awaiting a divorce. One could call this the ultimate nanny state legislation except that it includes sex with the nanny or anyone else while a divorce is pending — Schwarzennegger take note.

Leclair and other supporters in the town of Wrentham insist that the ban could cut down on domestic abuse. Of course, it also denies consenting adults of the choice over their intimate relations. It is clearly unconstitutional and a denial of privacy rights.

Here is the provision:

Section 31 of chapter 208 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2004 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-

In divorce, separation, or 209A proceedings involving children and a marital home, the party remaining in the home shall not conduct a dating or sexual relationship within the home until a divorce is final and all financial and custody issues are resolved, unless the express permission is granted by the courts.

More: Jonathan Turley, citing WFXT-TV (Fox 25 Boston).

Turley has also exposed and criticized proposed state laws against adultery in the ongoing War on Sex. Don Haase, a member of the Alaska judge-picking committee, has also making adultery a crime in his state.

2. What if it's sex between the divorcing couple?
Because it happens often. Very very often.

They're serious? I'm trying to contemplate the can of worms to be opened, and it's just too enormous.

4. What is wrong
with these people? They need a psyche evaluation and then some counseling. They need to solve their own personal problems.

Mass. bill would require divorcing parents to obtain judge’s approval for sex

<snip>

State Sen. Richard Ross sponsored the bill on behalf of his constituent Wrentham Selectman Robert Leclair.

"It's not intended to abridge the rights of anybody," Leclair told The Boston Herald. "If they want to have an extra-marital affair, just get away from the home."

Leclair, who is former president of Fathers United for Equal Justice, has reportedly gone through a bitter divorce.

12. oh God, not one of those raging "fathers' rights" guys
They've screwed up the real meaning of fathers' rights by appropriating the term for their anti-woman movement. I haven't met a guy in that movement yet who wasn't primarily focused on anger at his ex rather than love for the kids, whereas the feminist guys I know who decry that movement are far more into their kids, whether they're married or not.

I think the movement attracts batterers who want to use institutions to further control and beat up on their ex's.

every human too, you know, just to monitor everything they do in life. This is among one of the most invasive laws ... what a bunch of unmitigated BS.

9. The law is ridiculous and stupid.
YOu can't make somthing like this illegal, but I think both divorcing parents should make every effort to conduct a sex life away from the home where their children stay. Divorce can be painful and confusing enough, without kids having to endure their parents new fuckbuddy on top of everything else. No harm can come from taking it elsewhere, or perhaps waiting for the dust to settle a bit, before taking the latest Mr. or Ms. Right to bed.

14. Can they move in, if they promise not to fuck?
What about parents who have sex in their house? Isn't that dangerous to the children? Who knows, dad might roll over and crush the twins!

Seems that children in the house during sex was the issue, not the sex itself. I pressed it.

Well, I wasn't referring to children in the actual bed. That adds a whole new layer of inappropriate, but...carry on.

they themselves live such a miserable life with all of their hatred and psychopathic tendencies crammed into their minds.

23. so if your wife walks out on you and leaves you the kid
and the house, and you cannot find her to finalize the divorce you will not be able to have sex with your new girlfriend at the house with the kid? you would have to move to a new house to be able to have sex? you could have sex in an exhibitionist club, her house, but not your house? even if the kid was with grandma and grandpa?
