Looking for Liberal List/Accomplishments to send to my RW Brother

Is there a list of things liberals have done so I can send my brother? We rarely get into politics because it wastes so much time. However, we somehow while discussing ARnold's scandal got into all things liberal and Obama.Very upsetting. Not so much his politics but his spin. Our economy today is all Obama;s fault and Bush can not be blamed for it anymore. Gas prices, Obama's fault.Killing Bin Laden,Bush gets all the credit.

He is starting a new career and looking for work as a teacher.He is having a difficult time and it is Obama's fault. He thinks Scott Walker did a brave mature thing and supports it 100%.The Tea Party is not racists but liberals are. Anti gay shit he spews. Immigration. Government hand outs,etc. He praised Trump for forcing Obama to release his birth certificate.Ugh!Just really getting to me.

Anyway,he got several federal grants to help with school. He pays into social security as well. Some day he might need medicare. He does not make much money at all yet supports the rich (The Koch Brothers)and says Obama and his staff are all use to Government handouts.

I tried on Google but could not find anything. I want to send him a list of all the programs started by liberals. 5 day work week,sick leave,social security,etc. Saw it posted here once before. I spent most of the night last night arguing back and fourth and I think now it has come down with him wanting the last word so he can declare victory.

Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised.

You realize your problem will be that no RW'er will believe any of these are actually accomplishments? I knew there was no hope when they won't give him credit for killing bin Laden

What else? I am serious. His hero is Newt. Need I say more? He listened to me bitch and moan all during the Bush years and he seemed to like Clinton.He lives in Illinois and tried for a while to get a job with the state. This was around 2004-2007. He then gave up and decided to go into teaching.He was very bitter and said qualified people don;t get state jobs. Its all who you know. IMO, I think he blamed Illinois politics/Obama for him not getting a cushy state job. I could be wrong but he always sounds biter about it and has made a U turn with politics. Hates Dick Durbin and any liberal Illinois politician. LOVES all the GOP Politicians.I sent him an email saying I assume he against the Teachers union (because we all know how much the GOP Love teachers) Liberals are hiding behind race when it comes to Obama,yada yada yada. Its very upsetting because at times I have a difficult time believing he believes the BS he is spewing. He is constantly contradicting himself and flip flopping.

Refuses to believe the GOP has been hijacked by radical Tea PArty members and says we can not have radical politic ans on any side. Obama is the most liberal president we have. He then calls Bush a moderate Republican and says Romney won;t get elected because he is way too moderate and weak. So, its OK to have a extreme RW president but not a extreme left wing President(even thought I disagree Obama is as liberal as he thinks)

Arguing with him is pointless. Thanks for letting me vent!

You know that utterly frustrated feeling you have? When you send off your list of accomplishments, or logically flawless arguments describing why your brother is mistaken, know that you won't change his mind. You're just going to make him feel the same frustration with you that you feel with him.

You won't change his mind with a zing. He listens to Fox News and swallows Limbaugh's "entertainment" as truth.

If it is your mission to change his mind, it will need to be one small truth at a time. Good luck.

TDR's trust busting (yeah, he was a Republican but it was a liberal/progressive effort), suffrage, the New Deal, the interstate system (another progressive Republican deal), and of course the Great Society initiatives.

Hell, I guess you can start with democracy and arguably monotheism considering the times.

Yeah, see how many teachers keep jobs if the libertarian dream of getting rid of public education ever comes true.

Second, the weekend. It wouldn't exist without dirty union agitators! But I see you've already pointed that out.

Here's the reason conservatives thrive on their narrative that government can't do anything right. Because that way, they get to lump everything together, and say they're the ones that are "against" government. But if you actually separate what the government does between good and bad, all the good things are thanks to liberals, all the bad things are thanks to conservatives.

Safety net: liberals. Helping the poor or unemployed: liberals. Medical care and retirement for seniors: liberals. Child labor laws, overtime, the weekend: liberals. Equal rights: liberals.

Bailouts: conservatives. Corporate handouts: conservatives. Wars and a bloated military budget: conservatives.

If you abandon the idea that NO government is good, and separate what the government does into categories of generally good and generally bad and put that up on a chalkboard, the scoreboard will speak for itself. If you believe government can exist and do some good, then you should be a liberal. If you think it can't, well, maybe you should stop beating around the bush and actively rebel against the government. But the bottom line is conservative leaders are liars, they love government as a vehicle for taking away your money and your conservative brother's money and putting it into the hands of their rich friends, but they hate it when it does anything useful.
