Apple logo/imagery causes 'religious' reaction in brains of fans.
"According to the neuroscientists, the scan revealed that there were marked differences in Brooks’ reactions to the different products. Previously, the scientists had studied the brains of those of religious faith, and they found that, as Riley puts it: 'The Apple products are triggering the same bits of brain as religious imagery triggers in a person of faith.'"

Edited on Thu May-19-11 11:18 AM by woo me with science
They were bought by a conglomerate (Unilever products), and it's now full of gums and artificial sweeteners. The last time I tried the chocolate, it left a paste and a chemical aftertaste in my mouth.

41. There is a brand sold in convenience stores called Blue Bunny
Surprisingly, they make a natural vanilla that reminds me of the old classic Breyer's vanilla. The ingredients are simple -- you know, stuff like milk & cream & sugar.

I haven't tried it yet because it is a bit more pricey than the other brands.

They associate with religious stories. The essence of religion is word association. Did he only test Christians? How did it work on Hindus and Buddhists?

11. Hah! You're telling me!
On our Paris honeymoon recently, my husband approached the Apple store in the Louvre (it IS impressive) with religious reverence. I've never seen such a mystical expression on his face, ever. Then, to complete the sublime/surreal experience, he insisted on eating at McDonald's.

You can't make this shit up. And yes, I love him to pieces.

35. They absolutely do.
It's directly under I.M. Pei's pyramid. As you walk from the Metro to the entrance to the museum, there are a large number of high-end shops on the lower level, and a food court (with said McDonald's) on the mezzanine level. The Apple store occupies two floors of prime real estate in the "courtyard" where the pyramid's inverted point is suspended in light over the lower lobby. The store itself is 100% glass, with a glass-and-steel spiral staircase.

To complete the surreal experience, swarms of Japanese tourists wearing face masks stream through the place en masse, like schools of fish.

Although it was my third visit to Paris, the Louvre this time was a disappointing experience, as was my beloved Musee d'Orsay, which closed its doors in the early afternoon because of the crowds. It simply could not accommodate more visitors.

A much more rewarding and peaceful spot is the Musee du Moyen Age at Cluny. No crowds, just quiet and beautiful objects treated with reverence. And an itty bitty gift shop, barely worth mentioning.

12. They studied one unusual person, who is described as "an Apple worshipper"
who "claims to think about Apple 24 hours a day" and then extrapolated their findings to millions of other people?

Or perhaps the researchers didn't do that, but the people who needed a provocative headline did.

Take DU for example, there is some insignificant dumbass Apple-bashing thread like this one at least every day. The Apple-Basher go HYSTERICAL EMOTIONAL AND NUTS.

The Apple users are quite happy in our little ghetto not bothering anybody

I use Windows as well, so I have the best of both worlds.

And it is Mac, not MAC. MAC is a cosmetics company.

68. too funny... what does ANY Logo do to you?!
This is pure commercial propaganda... the efforts to shame those into not buying another company's product is all too revealing. Funny thing, I find more conservos bashing Apple because the right see's the Mac as an alternative to the most used operating system. It's all about, "One of us".

The cult mentality goes both ways, and the bashing of Apple is pretty well documented throughout the web. Get over it... a lot people(especially in design and art) prefer OSX and Macs because they are better for those purposes.
