I really think he could have appealled to some independent voters. I think he would have given Obama a race.

1. He also has a pretty good sense of humor. I could almost like him.
I can see his appeal to voters on "that side" of the issues. I am also glad he is not running.

2. Yeah, so sensible that he pardons cop killers.
He'd never make it out of the primaries.

3. He's sensible if you don't mind birth control being outlawed.
Anyway, there are two facets to the Republican Party. The gauntlet of social-issue godbags who will not let anyone insufficiently Jesus-freak-y through the primary starting gate; and the "secret chiefs" who REALLY control the show, who only care about Money Money Money Money Money Money Money.

Huckabee could pass the first group, but not the second.

5. He's dangerous for that reason
A solidly Dem friend of mine was lured over to the Dark Side by Huckabee.

Now she's a RW talking-points-spewing Foxbot. :puke:

7. Don'e let one interview fool you.
Look at everything he has done and said. These things will be focused on if he decided to run.

8. I said the same during the
2008 primaries. He was also funny and self deprecating - and almost likable.

But that was without knowing where he stood on the issues or really anything about his past.

9. He seems like a pleasant and good-humored guy
I've seen him on The Daily Show and he's really quite likable. It's only when you learn what he really thinks on the issues that it gets scary... :scared:

11. Reagan was sort of like that.
He could be charming and almost made you forget what a bigoted, woman hating, union busting, dirty war exporting, AIDS ignoring vampire he was.

Neville Chamberlain thought he was one swell guy and a man of his word.
